Abstract | Este trabalho apresenta a contribuição do sensoriamento remoto (SR) e dos sistemas de informações geográficas (SIG) para a obtenção de informações sobre recursos agronômicos e florestais. Inicialmente, são dadas informações sobre os conceitos básicos de senroriamento remoto; satélites de recursos naturais e respectivos sensores, técnicas de interpretação de imagens orbitais e sistemas de informações geográficas. A seguir, apresenta-se extenta revisão sobre as aplicações de sensoriamento remoto na avaliação dos recursos agronômicos e florestais, incluindo os projetos operacionais do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) que utilizam as tecnologias de SR e SIG no estudo desses recursos a partir dessas informações pode-se comprovar a contribuição dessas tecnologias no mapeamento e no monitoramento dos recursos agronômicos e florestais. Além disso, o desenvolvimento de novos sensores com melhores características espaciais, espectrais e temporais tem permitido que esses recursos sejam monitorados de forma cada vez mais detalhada, a fim de garantir a qualidade e a sustentabilidade no Planeta. ABSTRACT: This work presents the contribution of Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in assessing agricultural and forest resources. Initially, the basic concepts of Remote Sensing, information about natural resources satellites and its respective sensors, and information about interpretation of satellite images are described. Subsequently, a brief description about Geographic Information Systems is presented. Then an extensive review of remote sensing applications to evaluate the agricultural and forest resources is done, including the operational projects of agricultural and forest resources, performed by the National Institute for Space Research, which uses RS and GIS technologies. In this context, we can confirm the contribution of these technologies for mapping and monitoring the agricultural and forest resources. In addition, the development of new sensors with improved spatial, spectral, and temporal characteristics has been allowing the monitoring of these resources in order to secure the quality and the sustainability in our planet. |
